When Sarah McMath became CEO of MOSL, she faced some serious challenges. There was no shared sense of the organisation’s purpose among the leadership team; no clear approach to business planning; a low level of engagement among employees; and a skeptical customer base.
Five years later, the organisation has transformed. Join me on the latest episode of The Purposeful Strategist to learn how Sarah took an inclusive approach to develop a shared organisational purpose, and used that to shape a new strategy, grow the organisation’s capabilities, craft practical operating principles, and turn around employee engagement.
Sarah became Chief Executive of MOSL, the Market Operator for the Retail water market for Business customers in June 2019. She focuses on driving collaboration to ensure that the water market delivers on its commitments to customers and uses its independence to ensure the advance of simple and effective water markets for the benefit of business customers.
Sarah worked for Thames Water for 24 years in a wide variety of roles, leading teams of up to 3000 people in both technical and operational areas. She holds a doctorate in environmental engineering.
