Our guest is Dena McCallum, Founding Partner of Eden McCallum. Dena shares how their disruptive business model and open mindset has allowed them to pursue one core purpose over more than 20 years – in the highly competitive yet very traditional management consulting industry. She also talks about how they combine top-down structured planning and bottom up innovation to continuously improve their model and help make independent consulting an even more viable career for a wider range of people.
Eden McCallum redefined consulting to make it better for clients and better for consultants. They craft each project team with the optimal combination of independent consultants and in-house partners and analysts, ensuring the best skills, experience and ‘fit’ for their clients.
This innovative approach to project teams provides faster, deeper insight and lasting impact to their clients and a highly rewarding experience to their consultants and colleagues. They work with clients to answer the 'what' and the 'how' and to help make it happen.
Dena works closely with clients in the retail, financial services, media and business to business services sectors. She started her career at McKinsey where she worked for 6 years, first in Toronto then Frankfurt and London, before joining Condé Nast International as Director of Strategy and Planning. Together with Liann Eden, she co-founded Eden McCallum in 2000. Dena holds an MBA from INSEAD, an MPA from the Princeton School of Public and International Affairs, and a BA from the University of Toronto.
