As General Manager, Darius Hughes is responsible for overseeing Moderna’s activities in the UK.
With over 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, before joining Moderna as UK General Manager in July 2021, Mr. Hughes served as the head of Pfizer’s UK and Ireland Vaccines Business Unit.
Over his 16 years at Pfizer, Mr. Hughes worked in various roles including as the Vaccines Commercial Lead in the UK, European Brand Director in the Antibacterial Sector, Brand Director for Global Women’s Health, Regional Brand Director on Spiriva and Senior Product and Brand Manager on Lyrica. Before joining Pfizer Mr. Hughes worked for Boots the Chemist in a number of store and head office roles.
Mr. Hughes has previously chaired the ABPI vaccines group and is a registered UK pharmacist. He holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Pharmacy from Portsmouth University in the UK.
